Supplier Diversity
Supplier Diversity
Commitment
We work to prioritize diversity within our organization, recognizing the fundamental strength that multiple cultures, skillsets and experiences bring to our business – and that extends to our suppliers. To ensure a competitive, reliable and resilient supplier pipeline, we must ensure access to a broad array of suppliers, and we see our commitment to allocating a 20% minimum spend to diverse U.S. suppliers as fundamental to our future success.
Our supplier definition
We define diverse suppliers as suppliers that are at least 51% owned by an individual or group that is underrepresented—minority (MBE), women (WBE), veteran (VBE), LGBTQ+ (LGBTBE), or disability (DOBE)-owned—a small business, and/or operating in an economically disadvantaged location based on U.S. Small Business Administration definitions.
Corporate Membership
We are also strengthening our relationship with our existing key strategic diverse suppliers by expanding our scope of services and products with them. We are members of organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and Disability IN in support of advancing and developing diverse businesses.
Procure Access Statement
Otis is a signatory of the Disability:IN Procure Access Statement which affirms our commitment to purchasing and selling technology that is accessible to people with disabilities. This initiative seeks to help businesses understand that accessible procurement creates an inclusive workplace with better, more usable products and services for our colleagues, customers, and the public. By signing this statement, we recognize that accessibility cannot be just a feature, but rather an integral aspect of our products and services.
Third Party Certification
For inclusion in our supplier diversity program, suppliers must be certified or approved by the following third-party certification agencies:
- National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)
- Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
- Disability:IN
- National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)
